Investment Guidelines Are Made to Be Broken

Today I wish to begin this series on Rules of the Game by getting you to think differently about your life. I’m not assuring that you’ll have some sort of life-altering surprise, however if you can stick with me through this and future post, you’ll start to see changes. After all,you can’t flex the guidelines to your benefit until you know what they are!

What is a rule?

Before we begin, let me cover a few fundamental concepts and ideas.
What is a rule? Well,a rule is basically a broad classification of beliefs that specify how somebody believes the world operates. The keyword here is “believes.”.
Most of the time, people are running on guidelines that they set for themselves without even recognising it.

Rules You Think Exist

What are some rules you might unconsciously follow? Well,in my type of work and the people I have actually engaged with,I’ve found these to be very typical:

· You require to work more to make more money.

· If you are a hard employee, your work will be rewarded.

· You have to go to school to get a good job.

· The government will care for you in retirement.

Want to understand a common thing amongst all of these guidelines? More times than not, these rules are broken.
In truth, you’re the just one envisioning them, and everybody else is doing just fine without them.

The Other hand

If these imaginary guidelines don’t exist and everyone does not follow them, what’s stopping you from following your own set of guidelines? Really, rules are crucial; but it matters that you’re following the right set of rules.
Rules must be empowering, they should set a standard of conduct for you to follow, they must have a cause-and-effect relationship with your results, and they need to set your procedures and treatments.
